IN MEMORIAM - Duffy Swantek '96 passed away in his sleep on May 8.  Duffy is remembered for his love of LC and his winning the PA state championships in both track and cross country.  Please keep his parents, Dan and Pat along with Duffy's wife Dhira and 3yr old daughter Athena and his siblings, Shannon and Kevin in your thoughts and prayers.  His classmates are planning a memorial fundraiser to be held this July Duffy Swantek Memorial Event July 23 at St. Stanislaus Parish
The winners of the Inaugural Crusader Cup Golf Outing were: Dan Linaugh, Dave Granese, Nick Hasapes and Matt Geib.  Congratulations to them and thank you to the 96 golfers who participated in this event, including wonderful support from Little Flower High School and friends of Joe McGovern, a faculty member who passed away last year.  Joe's wife Rita and daughter Kate joined us for a great day.  On Saturday, Bishop Timothy Senior '77 joined Lucille Kramer Pritchard '66, Stephen Stadelmeyer '61, Larry Glueck '59 and John Quain, Esq. '72 as the third class to be inducted into the LC Hall of Fame.  Proceeds from these events go to our tuition assistance program and the Joe McGovern Memorial Scholarship.

David Wolfinger '09, made the cut for the Varsity Division III NYU-Poly "Fighting Blue Jays" Men's Baseball team.  Attached is the team photo with Davey front row 2nd from right.  Davey currently plays second base and intermittent pitcher. John Howell '09, freshman at the US Naval Academy, was recently awarded the Collins/Roos Class of 1949 Junior Varsity MVP Award, presented annually to the most valuable player on the junior varsity football team as chosen by a vote of his teammates.  He was the leading rusher for the team last fall and will be a candidate for playing time next fall at slot back.
David Glinski '06, has recently been accepted to membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society at Temple University.  "It is only fitting that a top academic achiever like David be recognized by Golden Key," said John Mitchell, Golden Key's CEO.  "Our members are inspired and motivated not only to achieve exceptional academic accomplishments, but also to make a positive impact on our world through the Society's commitment to service."  Golden Key International Honour Society is the world's premier collegiate honor society, with more than 1.7 million members and over 360 chapters in the US, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.  Membership into the society is by invitation only and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
On Saturday, January 30, LC honored all those who scored 1,000 points or more during their basketball careers. A very special thanks to Lucille Kramer Pritchard '66 and Jon Slabek, along with the many other volunteers who made this evening a great time!
Laura Stashefski '03 and Adam Corrado '03 were married on September 13, 2009.  They had been dating since junior year at LC. Pio Mandato '08,  a sophomore at Shippensburg University was part of the 4x800M track team that competed at the New Balance indoor track and field games at the New York Armory on Feb 6th, 2010. The team set a new Shippensburg University school record of 7:45.80, and finished 6th place in a very highly competitive collegiate event and outran squads from Arkansas, St Francis and Seton Hall.  The time of 7:45.80 is just three seconds short of the PSAC all-time record and 19 seconds faster than any other PSAC school this season. Mandato also competed in the open 800 meters, and has already qualified for PSAC Championship meet to be held in three weeks at Edenborough University.
 
 
Rick Rutter '62 stopped by recently to visit LC and took a moment to speak with seniors, Alex Kirk and Mike Janinek.  Also, during the semester break for college, Bridget Murphy '08, Michael Rogers '07, Tony Zollo '07 and Sara Lee '06 caught up with faculty member Mr. Gene Murphy and Director of Institutional Advancement & Alumni Affairs, Mrs. Karen Maginnis '82.
Laura Welch '06, was the speaker at a recent Writer's Workshop taught by Ms. Ventresca.  Laura will graduate from Villanova University this spring and is editor-in-chief of The Villanovan She stopped to talk with current students, Alex Arrow '10, Pat Grimail '10 and Kristin Schott '11.
What a small world this is…. Paul Kraynak and Michele Gagliano ’75, were married at St. Stanislaus on September 19. They went to Rome and Florence for their honeymoon. They had just attended a general audience with Pope Benedict XVI and were walking through St. Peter’s Square and Paul recognized Bishop Tim Senior, LC Class of 1977. He happened to be in Rome for a Bishop’s “orientation”.

Emily Romendio '01, LC Dance Company Assistant Director and Jonathan Slabek, Theology Teacher and LC Athletic Director were married on July 18, 2009 at St. Agnes Church in Sellersville.  They met while working at LC.  Emily is employed as an Autistic Support Teacher with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. Larry Glueck '59 has been named for induction in the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame Dinner on November 24.  You can read more about it at Montgomery News.
