Flexible Instruction Day
FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAY (FID) For All 15 Archdiocesan Secondary Schools
In the event that a school building is prevented from opening (e.g. inclement weather, power outage, damage to building, etc.), the use of a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) will be as follows:
- Assignments should be posted online (Schoology) in all subject areas the evening before the FID, if the closure is known, or by 10 AM, the morning of the FID, if the closure was not known the day before. Assignments can also be posted ahead of time as well. Physical copies of assignments can also be distributed to students prior to the use of a FID.
- On a Flexible Instruction Day, teachers shall be available for three (3) hours between the hours of 10 AM and 2:30 PM to answer questions that students may have about the assignment or to provide direct instruction. The teacher will post the three (3) hours within the 10 AM and 2:30 PM that he/she will be available to answer questions.
- Assignments should take thirty (30) minutes for students to complete.
