2019 Athlete Winter Development Program

The Program: 
- This training program will be conducted 2 days a week (Monday and Thursday)
   for 7 weeks leading up to the spring sports season  
- Training will begin the week of Monday 1/14/19 and run through Thursday 2/28/19
- Training begins at 2:50pm in the LC Weight Room and will run until 3:50pm 
- Training sessions will either stay in the weight room or outside if weather permits
- Participants should bring proper footwear and bring appropriate gear in case we go outside
- The program is for all levels, abilities, and sports. Athletes will be grouped together based upon sport and skill level 
  The program will be adapted to be appropriate for athletes of different levels
 
The Purpose: 
To improve all facets of athleticism for off-season LC athletes in the areas of speed, agility, quickness, strength, and 
overall conditioning. This program will help the athlete with: 
-Injury prevention through a variety of pre-hab exercises
-Improve overall movement and running mechanics 
-Improve speed, agility, and overall quickness 
-Improve overall strength specifically core strength
-Increase overall fitness and endurance level
-Teach athletes the proper way to train and look after their body
 
The Coaches: 
All sessions will be run by Athletic Director Rob Nydick and Athletic Trainer Bryan Mizell. Both coaches have extensive backgrounds in sport coaching and strength and conditioning and both hold their CSCS Certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist)  through the National Strength and Conditioning Association
 
The Cost: 
7-week commitment! There is no financial cost for this program however athletes must register online using the sheet listed here.(Please note athletes will need to log on with their LC credentials to access form)
