Flexible Instructional Days (FID)
With severe winter weather upon us, in the event that school is closed for a Flexible Instructional Day (FID), here is what families need to know:
- Assignments should be posted online in all subject areas the evening before the FID if the closure is known or by 10:00 am the morning of an FID if the closure was not known the day before. Assignments can also be posted weeks ahead of time.
- Only school technology should be used for the posting of assignments.
- Physical copies of assignments can also be distributed to students prior to the use of an FID.
- Assignments should take thirty (30) minutes for students to complete.
- On a Flexible Instructional Day, teachers shall be available for three (3) hours between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:30 pm to answer questions that students may have about the assignment.
- The teacher will post the three (3) hours within the 10:00 am and 2:30 pm that he/she will be available to answer questions.
