Lansdale Catholic has an open technology environment and now hosts a wireless network 3x faster than before. Every classroom is equipped with a wireless access point to ensure each student has optimal connectivity.
Every student is issued a personalized LansdaleCatholic.com email address. Lansdale Catholic High School utilizes Google Apps for Education. This is an online suite of productivity tools and applications for classroom collaboration. These tools are leveraged by both students and their teachers to support the high levels of communication, collaboration, and sharing that are the foundation of modern learning.
There are many big names in technology, like Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Oracle. Each have something different to benefit and engage the students. Lansdale Catholic incorporates the best of these technologies in our education process. Students have access to a newly equipped Windows computer lab, Mac workstations for their art classes, and utilize their Chromebooks for all other classroom learning. The use of technology is integrated with classroom instruction. Online learning allows for flexibility in the curriculum process and helps students to better prepare for a blended college learning environment.
By utilizing the Google Apps for Education, students can work on their documents, presentations, and all other homework assignments from any internet accessible device, including their smartphones. While in school, students will use their Chromebooks for classroom learning. ** Please click on the Technology Requirements / Chromebooks link for more information regarding LC's Chromebook policy **
LC is an Oracle Academy Institutional Member. We are currently using the Oracle curriculum for our Java programming course. Oracle Academy offers learning resources and advanced technology support to academy members. Lansdale Catholic is the only member school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
