James Roberts '27 (Corpus Christi) and Anna Tiech '27 (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) have been named Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor earned by fewer than 1% of high school seniors across the United States. Jimmy and Anna will move on in the competition to be considered Finalists, which is determined in February.
Additionally, Griffin Selgrath '27 (Our Lady of Mercy), Kane Butler '27 (St. Isidore), Nickolas Coddington '27 (St. Jude), and Cameron Jones '27 (Our Lady of Mercy) have been named as Commended Students, which places them among the top 3% of all test takers.
More than 1.2 million juniors across 20,000 schools entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It is incredibly impressive that Lansdale Catholic High School, with only 139 students in the Class of 2027, would have six members of the class rank among the top in the nation.
All six awardees are members of LC's STEM Honors Program, and three are Connelly Foundation Neumann Scholars.
