The grand total of the school’s fundraising efforts will be revealed at halftime of the Homecoming football game on Saturday October 20 at 1 PM at Wissahickon High School. Members of the media are invited to cover the big fundraising reveal, as well as our other homecoming week activities. On Monday evening October 15, Lansdale Catholic High School will host “A Night to Honor Veterans” in their gymnasium; the evening will feature speeches from local veterans, raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and a performance by The Pennise Family Band. Admission to Veterans’ Night is a $5 suggested donation. Here is a listing of the week's activities:
Homes for Our Troops is a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post - 9/11 veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.
Tails of Valor is dedicated to providing rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies with service canines to veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and physical disabilities. With our donations, we will be sponsoring a dog to be trained as a therapy dog for a veteran in need.
