Ava Satterthwaite ‘24 Named National Merit Commended Student

The principal, Mr. James Meredith, of Lansdale Catholic High School announced on September 27, 2023 that Ava Satterthwaite ‘24 (Mary, Mother of the Redeemer) has been named a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Congratulations to Ava on this prestigious accomplishment!
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Attention 8th Grade Families! Are you ready to schedule a Shadow Day?


The Shadow Day experience allows an eighth grader or potential transfer student to spend a day with a current LC student. Eighth-grade visitors are paired with freshmen. Visitors will be able to meet our teachers and engage in conversations about the sports teams, clubs, and countless well-respected programs such as STEM and Fine Arts. The LC Shadow Program will begin for 8th graders on September 25 and will continue throughout the rest of the school year.  Click to learn more.

8th Grade Scholarship Test Information

For the first time ever, the Catholic grade schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will be offering a universal 8th grade scholarship test in their classrooms. If your child attends one of these parish or regional partner schools, the test will be scheduled during the final week of September. When filling out the pre-test form, students can elect to send the results of the scholarship test to up to three of the 15 Archdiocesan high schools of their choice. Please discuss the options with your student, and be sure your child will select Lansdale Catholic High School as one of the receiving schools to be considered for an academic scholarship at LC. If your student does not select LC when filling out their test form, they will not be included in our pool of scholarship candidates. Click to read more.

Happy Retirement to Jim Casey and Rita McGovern!

The LC community wishes Mr. Jim Casey and Mrs. Rita McGovern a wonderful retirement. Mr. Casey spent 33 years at Lansdale Catholic High School, serving the last 15 years as President. Mrs. McGovern devoted 46 years to the high schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, serving as LC's principal for the past 11 years. They both have been strong role models of faithful leadership, and we are forever grateful for their dedication to the Lansdale Catholic community. Happy retirement, Jim and Rita!

Jim Meredith Named LC Principal

Dear Members of the Lansdale Catholic High School Community,

I hope you and your families are enjoying a happy and blessed summer!

The Office of Catholic Education in conjunction with LC’s administration and Board of Limited Jurisdiction, has been engaged in an extensive search process to identify your next Principal.

Today, I am thrilled to announce that Mr. James Meredith has been appointed to that post effective Monday, August 28, 2023. Mr. Meredith has 27 years of experience in Catholic education, including over 17 years in various leadership capacities. Since September 2018, he has served as Principal of Nazareth Academy High School. Prior to that time, he served as an Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and in various administrative roles at Pope John Paul II High School and Archbishop Ryan High School.
